Elisa Burns, MD
Director of Quality and Outcomes, Institute for Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Elisa Burns always knew she wanted to be a doctor since her first science class in Old Bethpage Elementary School. “Everything about the field appealed to me -- the combination of using my brain and emotional capacity, using my hands in a physical way, giving back to the community, answering questions, helping people, arriving at solutions, and working in science and biology.”

Today, Dr. Burns performs gynecologic surgery – often with the advanced da Vinci® robot-assisted system -- and is Director of Quality and Outcomes at the hospital’s Institute for Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
