Darren I. Rohan is the Westchester Regional Director of the Thoracic Surgery Program. Dr. Rohan is committed to improving outcomes in thoracic surgery in the Westchester area. He is a leader in robotic surgery and was the first thoracic surgeon in the United States to use the newest da Vinci surgical system, the da Vinci Xi for chest surgery. He performed the first lung lobectomy with the da Vinci Xi system, as well as nissen fundoplication—a procedure that relieves severe acid reflux disease.
Employing robotic technology enables surgeons to perform most procedures using smaller incisions with less pain, decreased risk of infection, and often a shorter recovery.
